I work with polymer clays and i want to have some mini cookie cutters that i can't find anwhere near me. i have a mini circle and a star but i want to make different shapes and sizes. would pi be able to use pop cans to make them from? No, I consider soda can aluminum too thin to hold a shape well. The metal in 'tin' cans like vegetable and fruit cans is thicker and is coated steel. You can buy thicker aluminum as flashing by the foot at hardware stores and home centers and small sheets of various thicknesses at hardware, hobby, and some craft stores. I made a set including a donut cutter with an included hole cutter using stainless steel, which is harder to work, but washes well and is tough. |
