 Building an H0 scale room? I've dabbled in miniatures for years, and dioramas for months, but I need some help with my current project. I'm trying to do an H0 scale replica of Sherlock Holmes' study, based largely off this illustration: I've already purchased furniture, windows and a door from Scale Structures Ltd. But I have no idea how to construct the room itself. I fear because it's so specific I may have to scratch build it. What's a good material to use? I have experience with hydrocal and polymer clay, but I'm not sure either will work well for this. Any advise would be most appreciated. Also, does anyone know who makes good wood flooring, wall paper, etc. in H0 scale? I bought a sheet of wood flooring from SS Ltd but it looks awful. Thanks so much! I use a product called Gator board for some of my HO projects. I've also used styrofoam insulation to imitate cement or concrete building exteriors.See if any of the flooring companies have discontinued samples. Sometimes they have scraps from jobs that wind up being thrown away. You will wind up scratch building unless you have very deep pockets and can afford period correct elements. In other words, you're going to have to spend heavy to get the right stuff! |
