 I am making a sword hilt, what materials should I use? ok, so far I am planing to make the actual part that is held out of wood, it's just the cross bit that I am not sure about, I was thinking Polymer Clay, although I have never used it before, do you think it would be strong enough? If you make the cross bar out of clay or anything, it will break off almost immediately after you start handling it. Have someone cut a wide slit in your wood handle: ( ---- ) and slide something thru the slit that is sturdy enough but not sharp and heavy enough to be dangerous and dis-allowed by the convention judges. Maybe some heavy-duty cardboard covered with duct tape to make it sturdy. You can also use that shiny chrome insulation tape or paint it however you want and glue on other decorations. |
