Unique Tags for your Wedding Favors
Your wedding favors are not complete without a thank you tag attached & whilst you may think that these are simple enough to choose, you may be amazed at the choices available to you.
Wedding favor stores will carry a great line in personalized & custom designed tags, whilst applying some creative thinking of your own can lead to the creation of some beautiful & unique favor tags. Here are a few ideas:
- Die cut tags – these can be purchased from favor stores, craft stores & websites such as Ebay. You will them plain, background printed or with full customized printing available. Usually you will find them in round, heart, square or rectangular shapes. Other versions include scalloped edged tags & foil printed borders for an elegant traditional look.
- Metal tags – many favor stores are starting to carry these. These square tags are cut from aluminum & can be engraved with your monogram, names & wedding date (you will usually have to buy separate tags for each of these). They are extremely stylish & perfect for a modern wedding style. They also make great keepsakes for your guests.
- Scrapbook Elements – the art of scrapbooking has become hugely popular in recent years & has given rise to a number of wonderful decorative elements hitting the shops. Take a look around your craft store for a set of die cut chipboard letters which you could use to personalize your favors. They are often available in different sizes, colored, decorated or just plain. Your initials hanging from ribbon around your wedding favors would look so beautiful & totally unique.
- Clay Tags – take a look at polymer clay. This is the stuff you bake in the oven to make it go hard. Imagine creating your own tags from it, cutting it into different shapes with cookie cutters & carving your names & wedding date into it. Attach a magnet to the back so your guests can use them as fridge magnets when they get home. Following on from the idea above, you could cut your initials using alphabet cutters, make a hole in the top, big enough to thread ribbon through so you can tie them to your favors.
- Wooden Tags – you can purchase small wooden shapes from your local craft store. Usually they will be plain although you may find some ready painted. Shapes will vary from the usual suspects, through to hearts, fish, birds, butterflies & flowers, making it easy to coordinate them with your wedding theme. You can paint them yourself at home or leave them natural looking. Add on your names, wedding date & thank you message with paint, pen or burn it on with a soldering iron. As above you could attach magnets to the back so they can be used as fridge magnets.
