![]() Would making figures from fondant be similar to working with polymer clay? I want to start making fondant figures to go on my cakes, however ive never doneit before. I work with polymer clays though, would yo say the two are very similar for working with? Yes, it's been several years, but I have worked with fondant and found it simular to polymer clays. Of course you don't bake the fondant though. You can mix the fondant with food color (paste is better for mixing) and I also have painted food coloring on with a brush and have made a doll sculptures with them. I think that you will find the texture just a tad softer, but yet much like warmed clay. |

Tapping My Artistic Side With A Polymer Clay Pasta Machine
I have forever been enchanted with clay, well not the natural clay but the polymer clay. Due to both having similar consistency, pliability and touch, many individuals mistake the polymer clay or more ordinarily known as "Play-Dough" clay for the natural clay mineral which is a a modest misidentification. The polymer clay is the multi-colored pliable object that's nearly solely used for artistic functions although it was firstly used as a compound to direct heat away from the centers of electrical transformers. There is still much modernization that can be made with this art channel because its account as an artistic medium is just several decades long. Pasta makers are fantastic for operation with pasta, DUH, but it's also great for producing standard sheets of clay without having to expend so much movement. Unlike using the rolling pin or merely your hands, a pasta maker can lessen the time it gets you to flatten your clay, it produces more equally leveled figures and you use fewer movement. Before I begun working with a polymer clay pasta machine, it required a long time to complete one artwork especially the part where I worked the clay. The time I used on that procedure could've been employed to make more figurines and so I tried discovering answers and finally, hello pasta machine. Since then it's been a common friend during my spare time.
There are so many pasta machines to opt from, depending on your requirements, preferences and budget you can also acquire one to your taste and you can utilize any sort of pasta maker to shape your clay.
