Is it possible to make a polymer clay bead to look similar to a dichroid bead?

Can you draw on Polymer clay?

I am making polymer clay jewelry and have learned about transferring pictures to the clay. Cool. But can I draw on polymer clay with like markers or something and have a good effect? Just curious.
