What tool or technique can you use to cut baked polymer clay?

i find using a regular knife is way too hard. the clay itself is really tough to cut through.

If you have a serrated knife (like a steak knife) you can saw through it. I also have some very sharp, inexpensive paring knives and a snap-blade utility knife that I've used to whittle areas off. It is very hard to cut through the baked clay without breaking it so take it slow.

Score the line that you want to cut before you start to saw through - it will help keep your blade on track. If you can find some inexpensive pinch clamps (they look like big metal clothes pins and they cost less than $2 each at Home Depot and similar stores) - you may find sawing a small piece much safer to hold in the clamp than with your fingers! If you have access to a vice, pad the item with foam to keep the jaws of the vice from scratching the sides and crank it until the piece is snug, but not so tight that you shatter it.

If you have a fine coping saw or hack saw you may have better luck than with a knife. The trick here will be holding the item steady while you saw it. Saw gently with the thinnest blade you can find.

You may also be able to sandpaper off parts that you want to remove. In a pinch, you can even use an emery board for fingernails for sanding.

Make Fablulous Jewelry Using Indian Beads

In different parts of the world, several cultures, have adopted beads for personal adornment. If we look through ancient archaeological records one will be amazed to know that our ancestor used beads in different types of jewelry items, the history of this tradition can be traced up to 5000 years back. Venetians produced beads for commercial trade purposes and their history goes back to the 1400's. General purpose beads were used in those days for religious sake and as curative agents.

Beaded jewelry is look up to all over the world because of the large variety of colors; it can be used with different outfits & economically is really affordable.

The dictionary meaning of the word bead is that object which is pierced for threading or stringing. Whether you prefer the conservative view of string beads or fancy just about any object, beads are a delight. Now there are innumerable types of materials from which these beads can be made namely bone, horn, metal, pearl, gemstone, polymer clay, metal clay, resin, wood, minerals & so on…. But at this moment we are mostly concerned or rather focused on beads which are made for jewelry purpose with India centric manufacturing techniques.

In India, bangles are very popular and due to emerging trends in fashion they have become more popular with different forms & designs. Sometimes these beads are prepared on automated machines or even some are handmade depending upon the material used. I.e. most of the jewelry made from silver is handmade only due to its malleability property.

Silver beaded necklaces are available with exciting blend of tradition & trend, sometimes silver is oxidized to give ethnic & unique appearance. Bangles are made up of different types of materials namely wood, plastic, rubber, ferrous metal but according to Hindu tradition it is more acceptable in terms of purity & sanctity that women should wear either gold or glass bangles.

Firozabad which is located in India, Uttar Pradesh is the single largest producer of the glass bangles. Hyderabad from Pakistan is also famous for glass bangles.

Use of fabrics and laces does give more versatility. So to be able to make exact beads jewelry is really easy if one wants an ethnic & special touch to one's jewelry. To start decorating the bangles with laces & fabrics is basic idea where you just need to go for some stitching, color variation, and one tutorial which explains you about the detailed procedure. I am sure you will be able to make lucrative bangles just within 3-4 hrs. To be more specific on this, if you just do (I am serious) whatever is told to you with the detailed description in tutorial then definitely you will be able to make it as attractive as it if, it is made by professional.

Beadwork techniques are generally divided into loom & off loom weaving, stringing, bead embroidery, bead crochet & bead knitting. We will be more concentrating on stitching part in our easy tutorial.
